Rapid digitalisation and increasingly complex due diligence requirements – especially under the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) – have prompted a wave of commercial digital traceability and monitoring tools to emerge, often with unclear claims, incompatible formats, and minimal transparency on functionality or data governance.
As a result, sustainability systems, companies, and regulators struggle to assess which are suitable, credible, or interoperable. Preferred by Nature aims to provide a structured, shared approach to navigating the fast-evolving digital tool landscape.
The Digital Tools Platform built through this project will be a neutral, open-access online resource designed to help sustainability systems, companies, and regulators understand, compare, and assess digital traceability and monitoring tools. This aims to improve transparency, support compliance, and promote alignment and interoperability across systems.
