Landscape Practitioner Workshop
The Landscape Practitioner Network in-person workshop will be held in Jakarta on Friday 7th November 2025. This workshop aims to strengthen collaboration among landscape practitioners by sharing experiences, exchanging learning, and exploring practical solutions to systemic challenges, such as deforestation, tenure, and resilient livelihoods, through landscape and jurisdictional approaches. The workshop will place particular emphasis on aligning around good practices for smallholder inclusion and the enabling conditions that support effective, equitable, and scalable jurisdictional initiatives.

This workshop is happening alongside the Living Income Community of Practice’s (LICOP) workshop, Pathways for Income Improvement: Unlocking Opportunities for Smallholders in Asia. The LICOP workshop is taking place from Thursday 6th to Friday 7th November. Landscape Practitioner Network workshop participants will have the chance to meet LICOP workshop participants during the Thursday Social Network Evening. Some workshop attendees may also be joining the first day of LICOP's workshop (Thursday 7 November), subject to availability.

Thursday 6 November
Networking and social evening bringing together participants from both the Landscapes practitioner network and Living Income Community of Practice workshops
Friday 7 November
The registration process will start early in the day to allow participants enough time to collect their name badges, grab a coffee, and get to know other attendees before the event begins.
This opening session will welcome participants to the event and provide a brief orientation to the day’s programme.
This session will frame the objectives of the workshop, introduce key concepts such as landscape maturity and provide an overview of regional initiatives, showcasing shared strategies, stages of development, and early lessons from implementation.

In this interactive session, we will discuss what contributes to the maturity and effectiveness of landscape initiatives based on the four core criteria defined in a joint paper from the landscape practitioner network last year. We will explore how the criteria apply in different contexts based on participant experiences, understand the practical implications, and discuss how these elements can support more resilient, investable, and impactful landscape efforts.

This session will explore how landscape and jurisdictional approaches are enabling smallholder inclusion and improving smallholder livelihoods. It will present insights from recent research and speakers will share practical experiences and lessons from their work.

This session will deep dive on approaches for landscape monitoring and measurement for smallholder livelihood related indicators. It will explore different use cases, contexts, good practices and alignment opportunities.
This closing session will summarise the key highlights from the day, provide time for participants to complete a feedback survey, and outline upcoming activities and post-event follow-up.
