ISEAL Code v1.1 development
The ISEAL Code of Good Practice for Sustainability System ('the ISEAL Code') v1.0 came into effect on 1 March 2024. Feedback from ISEAL Community Members and wider stakeholders highlighted opportunities to improve the clarity and intent of certain requirements. With the input and approval from the ISEAL Technical Committee, editorial and non-substantive changes were made to address this feedback. Three objectives were defined:
- to provide greater clarity on requirements relevant to remediation
- to improve consistency with ISEAL’s resources
- to provide additional guidance and editorial improvements
The ISEAL Code v1.1 was published and came into effect on 1 September 2025. For ISEAL Code Compliant organisations, the ISEAL Code v1.1 is the definitive reference for all independent evaluations that begin from October 2025. The changes in v1.1 of the ISEAL Code do not alter the performance level or expectations for compliance as described in v1.0.
