Independent Evaluation Procedure for ISEAL Code Compliant Status

Independent Evaluation Procedure for ISEAL Code Compliant Status

The ISEAL Code of Good Practice for Sustainability Systems (hereafter the ‘ISEAL Code’) defines practices for effective and credible sustainability systems. ISEAL Code Compliant status recognises organisations that implement the practices defined in the ISEAL Code, and in doing so, demonstrate a rigorous approach to improvement.

ISEAL Community Members are recognised as ISEAL Code Compliant only when they have demonstrated adherence to the requirements in the ISEAL Code through independent evaluations in accordance with the relevant Independent Evaluation Procedures under ISEAL’s compliance programme:

  • Applying for ISEAL Code Compliant Status: Independent Evaluation Procedure: A new procedure that outlines how ISEAL Community Members initially achieve ISEAL Code Compliant status.
  • Maintaining ISEAL Code Compliant Status: Independent Evaluation Procedure: This procedure outlines how ISEAL Code Compliant organisations maintain their ISEAL Code Compliant status.

For independent evaluations that started prior to 1 March 2024, the processes and timelines described in version 12 of the Independent Evaluation Procedure will continue to apply.
