The Copper Mark joins as an ISEAL Community Member

ISEAL is pleased to announce that the Copper Mark has been approved as an ISEAL Community Member. We are excited to be working with an initiative that broadens our understanding of the mining and minerals sector and look forward to Copper Mark’s participation in the ISEAL community.

ISEAL members are sustainability systems and accreditation bodies dedicated to delivering benefits for people and planet. They are committed to continually improving their systems and impacts through learning and innovation; collaborating with stakeholders and peers; and are transparent and truthful about how their systems work and how they measure their impacts.

In becoming an ISEAL Community Member, Copper Mark joins a growing number of well-respected sustainability systems that are driving positive social and environmental change across multiple sectors. Copper Mark will be working alongside these mission-driven sustainability organisations to continuously improve the effectiveness of their systems and demonstrate impact.

Further to the recommendation from the ISEAL Membership Committee and ISEAL Board approval, our Executive Director, Karin Kreider, commented, “I would like to congratulate Copper Mark on becoming an ISEAL Community Member. Responsibly mined copper is key to supporting green energy. We’re excited to be expanding our membership in the mining and mineral sector and for this welcome addition to the ISEAL community.”

Executive Director at the Copper Mark, Michèle Brülhart added, “The Copper Mark is built on a genuine commitment of its participants to responsible practices. Our primary goals are for the majority of the copper industry to implement responsible practices, preventing and mitigating negative impacts as well as significantly contributing to sustainable development. Joining ISEAL’s community marks an important step for us to demonstrate the credibility of the Copper Mark Assurance Framework. We look forward collaborating with ISEAL and its community members to continuously improve our practices and work towards full compliance with the ISEAL Codes of Practices.”

We encourage any organisation developing or operating a sustainability system with a multi-stakeholder approach and a commitment to credible practices to consider joining ISEAL.
