With the publication of ISEAL’s Annual Review 2025, we look back on a year of collaboration, innovation and progress advancing credible sustainability practices.

Throughout 2025, ISEAL continued to support its members on complex and evolving sustainability challenges. Through three funding rounds, the ISEAL Innovations Fund supported 23 new projects focused on future-proofing sustainability systems and transferring value along supply chains.

We also contributed to policy action, with more than 75 percent of ISEAL recommendations informing EU legislation, from the Green Claims Directive to the Omnibus package. At the same time, we supported producers and other supply chain actors through the publication of ISEAL’s Equity Framework and a case study series on navigating EUDR, as well as by convening a landscape practitioner workshop in Indonesia.

Through the launch of the ISEAL Code website, we continued to support members and partners to apply credible approaches in practice. The new, user-friendly interface increases user understanding of requirements and improves access to guidance and resources.

Highlights from 2025 include:

• Hosting the ISEAL Sustainability Policy Forum in Brussels, The role of credible schemes in Europe and beyond, providing a platform for shared learning between sustainability systems, businesses and regulators.
• Strengthening our credibility guidance through a revised benchmarking guide, refreshed chain of custody guidance and sustainability claims guide, helping sustainability systems apply credible practice more consistently across traceability and claims communication.
• Advancing our work on equity and livelihoods through ISEAL’s Equity Framework and an expanding series of equity and empowerment case studies.
• Publishing several ISEAL Innovations Fund case studies and learning briefs, covering climate, monitoring performance, human rights, livelihoods and scaling.
• Convening partners and practitioners through the Living Income Community of Practice’s webinars and workshops, strengthening collaboration and shared approaches to income improvement and resilient livelihoods.
• Closing the year with 47 Community Members and 82 percent of members saying ISEAL’s support strengthens their systems to address sustainability challenges.

As sustainability challenges become increasingly interconnected, ISEAL will continue to support innovation, transparency and shared learning, helping members and partners turn credible sustainability practices into meaningful progress.
