ISEAL has been working as part of the Global Environment Facilities programmes since 2016. Initially working to ensure access to evidence on the effectiveness of sustainability systems on reducing deforestation in commodity supply chains, we have continued our partnership to support the establishment and use of Evidensia as a go-to source of evidence for policy makers and stakeholders of the Green Commodities programme.

Current Programme: Green Commodities Programme Phase II - Global Platform of the Food Systems, Land Use and Restoration Impact Program - FOLUR

Programme information

Programme Duration: 2022 - 2024
ISEAL funding Amount: $218,603 (USD)

Programme summary

ISEAL and Evidensia are working in consortia with a series of partners under the Good Growth Partnership (GGP), led by UNDP, to support the FOLUR programme. The focus of our work is to promote sustainable, integrated landscapes and efficient food value and supply chains at scale, with the aim to support shifts in the use of environmentally sustainable practices and policies in global value chains. The programme has a focus across eight major commodities - livestock, cocoa, coffee, maize, palm oil, rice, soy and wheat.

The aim of ISEAL is to support the use of Evidensia as a resource function for policymakers and stakeholders to achieve programme objectives through:

  • Production and sharing of resources by Evidensia to support the aims of the GGP.
  • Evidensia hosting learning events and webinars.
  • Publishing case studies and findings from the FOLUR programme that are relevant to sustainability standards and wider stakeholders on the Evidensia platform.

Geographic focus

FOLUR is designed to transform food systems by mobilising sustainable production landscapes in 27 country projects across South and Central America, Africa and Asia.
