Suspended and withdrawn ISEAL Community Members
Suspension
ISEAL Community Member status may be suspended where members:
- are found not to meet the ISEAL Community Member Requirements.
- fail to meet the deadlines associated with the ISEAL Community Member Monitoring Procedure.
ISEAL Code Compliant status may be suspended where members:
- are found to be not compliant.
- fail to participate in or meet the deadlines associated with the Independent Evaluation Procedures for ISEAL Code Compliant Status.
- are found to be not in good standing against the ISEAL Community Member Requirements.
Conditions during suspension
Where ISEAL Community Members have had their status suspended, they are not permitted to make claims related to being ISEAL Community Members. Members whose ISEAL Code Compliant status is suspended are not permitted to claim to be ISEAL Code Compliant.
Withdrawal
Members may voluntarily withdraw from ISEAL Community Member and/or ISEAL Code Compliant status at any time.
Where members do not provide sufficient evidence to address a suspension, their relevant status will be withdrawn by the ISEAL secretariat.

Current suspensions
The Sustainable Eel Group (SEG)
- ISEAL Community Member status suspended on 16 September 2025.
- ISEAL Code Compliant status suspended on 16 September 2025.
SEG was found in breach of the following ISEAL Community Member Requirements:
11) SEG failed to promptly notify ISEAL of any criminal or civil proceedings made against the organisation or of any other significant change in activities or circumstance that could affect the reputation of the organisation or of ISEAL membership as a whole.
SEG was found in breach of the following ISEAL Code Compliant Requirements:
5) SEG failed to notify ISEAL of any significant change in operations that could affect a previous determination of compliance. Examples of such changes could include changes to the assurance model or oversight mechanism, and;
6) failed to notify ISEAL should the organisation fail to maintain adherence to the ISEAL Code.

No members have been withdrawn from ISEAL Community Member or ISEAL Code Compliant status in the past three years by ISEAL secretariat.

- Swiss Better Gold Association – withdrew on 12 May 2025
- Climate Activator - withdrew on 31 December 2025
ISEAL Code Compliant status
- GoodWeave – withdrew on 3 February 2025
Please note, members who voluntarily withdraw from ISEAL Code Compliant status may remain as ISEAL Community Members. ISEAL Code Compliant status recognises ISEAL Community Members that implement the practices defined in the ISEAL Code of Good Practice for Sustainability Systems and in doing so, demonstrate a rigorous approach to improvement.
