This Additional Notes on the Contextualization of AWS Guideline Implementation in Indonesia is developed by AWS Indonesia as part of a set of reports from the 'Boosting sustainability practice and performance at landscape level through good water stewardship 2020-2022' project.

Sustainability systems are uniquely positioned to advance human rights protections for workers in global supply chains through the identification and verification of risks and instances of forced labour. This core and often elusive step of due diligence is critical to ensure compliance with emerging human rights legislation and credibility of sustainability labels and claims in the global market. 

As part of the ATLA project, Better Cotton Pakistan has explored way to work with the Punjab Provincial Government, Civil Society as well as with private sector to embed the BCSS Model into national cotton production practice. The Jurisdictional Approach is one of the key strategy framework for such kind of collaborative arrangements by adopting the standards in national policy context.

In 2023, the Global Living Wage Coalition commissioned the Anker Research Institute and ISEAL to do a needs assessment aimed at gathering stakeholder views on the readiness to advance on living wages for tea workers in Assam and West Bengal.

The last five years have seen a growing number of initiatives focused on increasing demand for sustainable palm oil in emerging economy markets. This report and case studies summarise key reflections and insights from an ISEAL-led project to understand strategies and activities adopted in key Asian countries to boost the demand for sustainable palm oil over the last five years.

This report includes a comparison of the International Water Stewardship Standard (AWS Standard) and the Regional Competitiveness Framework of the Sustainable District Association in Indonesia (LTKL), with recommendations to improve alignment for better water stewardship at jurisdictional level.

2025年9月，ISEAL与中国国际贸易促进委员会商业行业委员会（CCPITCSC）合作，正式发布《可持续体系基准对标良好实践指南（第二版）》中文版。该指南作为全球广泛认可的技术性文件，总结了自愿性可持续体系（VSS）基准对标的主要方法与实践，涵盖设计、实施、管理和沟通等关键环节。中文版的发布，标志着这一国际知识成果首次系统进入中文语境，为中国相关机构和企业更好理解和应用国际可持续标准提供了重要工具。《可持续体系基准对标良好实践指南（第二版）》中文版已面向社会公开，欢迎各界通过附件下载查阅与使用。

ISEAL signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Commercial Sub-Council (CCPIT-CSC), on 14 September 2024. Through the MoU, ISEAL and CCPIT-CSC aim to enhance trade development and voluntary sustainability standards cooperation in China.

Funded by the Ford Foundation, the Demonstrating and Improving Poverty Impacts Project (DIPI) seeks to understand the contribution that certification systems can make to poverty alleviation and pro-poor development.
